Releasing Negative Connections

Good Morning
This is is an easy topic to discuss but one that can be difficult to put into practice. It is very important to really work hard on this as the benefits of releasing negative connections can be life altering. In the last few months I have seen several of my friends get divorced and have clients speak with me about people in their life that are literally depleting their energy from them.... I am sure there are several reasons why this is all occurring at right now but lets try and focus on the release of negative connections.
Do you know someone that simply just drains you when you are listening to or speaking with them? Perhaps you know someone who is always speaking about themselves and their problems, constantly focusing on the negative rather than the positive, always seems to be in a bad mood and finding fault in others... This person can be a casual acquaintance, someone you just met, or even an old friend or relative. Signs that your energy may be being depleted are feeling tired, uncomfortable, physically/emotionally drained, getting angry or upset while listening or speaking with this person... If this occurs on a frequent basis, it may be time to release this negative connection.
I truly believe that we attract every person that comes into our lives for specific reasons. I know it sounds cliche but people come into our lives to teach us lessons about ourselves and to allow spiritual growth to occur. The key here is to recognize the negative connection and learn the lessons that are being taught from this connection. An example would be knowing someone that you do not care for. What are the traits you do not like and what effects do they have on you and others? Perhaps you share some of these negative traits? The lesson is to recognize these negative traits within yourself and correct them making you a better person so to say.
Once you recognize people that represent a negative connection it is important to release that relationship. I know that this may be quite difficult as some of these people may in fact be friends you have known for years. If you continually allow this person to deplete your energy, and they are, over time you will see negative results in your life on all levels. Easiest to recognize is the physical level. You may feel tired all the time, get sick more often and take longer to heal, and your may feel aches and pains throughout your body. Emotionally you may start to see changes in your attitude, become irritable much easier and frequently... Mentally you may feel like you have "brain fog", have trouble staying focused... and Spiritually you may feel like you just are not on the "path" that you know you should be. You do not feel grounded and may have a decrease in self-esteem. In general you just do not feel yourself.
Once this negative connection is released your energy will return and you feel more vibrant, strong, and free. You may feel that a burden has been lifted and you can now use your energy for positive things. Releasing this connection may take work on your part as it is never easy to let go of things that have been part of you for some time. You may feel a sense of loss and lonliness but once you feel the benefits of the release you will be thankful and more empowered. Remember you responsible for youself and your energy, do not let others take it from you!!!

Upcoming Reiki Presentation for the ASRT

Good morning.
Well this Sunday, Nov.1st, I will be presenting my first national Reiki "lecture" at the ASTRO convention in Chicago. This is the largest conference of Radiation Oncology professionals so it should be interesting on how receptive the audience is. I have a feeling it will be a good turnout as Reiki has gotten some very favorable press lately for its use in reducing some of the negative side effects commonly assciated with cancer treatments. My aim for this lecture is to educate the medical community of the benefits of Reiki and how it can be incorporated into not only a Radiation Oncology dept. but hospital wide.
Several months ago I, along with the hospital's Complementary Medicine Dept, began a program for the Cancer Center. This program allows any patient who is currently undergoing or has been previously treated with radiation and or chemotherapy to receive massage, Reiki, reflexology, and aromatherapy sessions FREE of charge twice weekly. As you may have guessed, the program has been a HUGE success and I hope to expand it to other depts. in the hospital.

Ok, I will let you know how things go at the convention. Nothing like speaking in front of a couple hundred people--lol

What a Reiki session is like

For those of you that are new to Reiki this is is just an overview of how a session is conducted. Now keep in mind that there is no "exact" waty to conduct a session and it will depend on why you are going for the session and how the practitioner goes about doing the session on you. There are 10 basic hand positions used for the head and front of the body and 6 used on the back. These are just guidelines. A practitioner should always go over all hand positions that will be used prior to the session beginning.

The client will be laying down on a massage table and remains fully clothed(Reiki can pass through any material). Sessions should be done in a quite, dimly lit, and comfortable room. I always have soft relaxing music playing in the background and often use lavander oil. make the client as comfortable as possible with use of blankets and pillows. The practitioner will begin by placing their hands gently on or just above you in specific locations. You may feel a heat or tingling coming from the practitioners hands. This is the actual energy going into you. If you do not feel heat or tingling, not a big deal at all. Do not base the effectiveness of Reiki on whether or not you feel these sensations. Reiki has its own intelligence and will go where it is needed and in what "strength." The practitioner will treat the entire front of theb ody and then have you turn over and treat the back positions.

I personally include some light massage duriing my sessions as I find it very effective in relaxing the client. The more relaxed the client the more open they will be for the energy to flow through. Reiki is NOT a massage but they do work very well together. In my experience most clients find the session to be extremely relaxing both physically and mentally. many clients will fall asleep during the session. reiki is releasinig toxins from all levels so it is fairly common for me to see a client have a lot involuntary muscle spasming during a session. I have also experienced clients laughing uncontrolably, crying and other such releases.

The best way for someone to understand Reiki is to experience a session. When having a session done do not have any preconcieved notions about what should or should nothappen. The more relaxed and open you and your body are the more effective your session will be :)

Share Your Experiences With Connecting with The Client

My latest session was conducted on a client/session and the instant I grounded myself I felt a deeper than normal connection with her. As I began the sesison my guides told me to pay extra attention to her heart and solar plexus chakras. Once I got to those areas my hand felt like they were on fire and I got a "vision" of her having a deep relationship problem. It was clear to me that a break up was in going on. I am by no means an empath but it felt as though the connection of that session was so strong that I was her. I have had this happen before on other clients but it is always a great reminder that we are all connected on a deep level. After the session I told her what I "sensed" and she confirmed that a break up was in fact going on.

so let me know your thoughts and experiences
